Design Philosophy
Every project begins before the drawing board — with the land, the climate, the materials within reach. The building comes after.
Site before sketch
The land is read before a single line is drawn. Topography, light, wind, and existing vegetation inform the form — not the other way around.
Regional materials
Stone, brick, timber — sourced close to the site. What the region has built with for centuries carries knowledge the catalogue doesn't.
Permanence as the brief
A building should age the way the land around it ages — getting better, not worn out. Permanence is not a style choice, it is the brief.
The Architect
Bachelor of Architecture, Pune University (1997). Masters in Environmental Planning, School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (2000).
Over two decades of practice across residential, institutional, and commercial projects — including work with Venkataramanan Associates on major builds for KPIT Cummins, L'Oréal, Asian Paints, Kirloskar Brothers, Philips R&D, and Dassault Systèmes.
Saraansh was founded in 2025 as a focused independent studio — smaller in scale, uncompromising in approach.
